9 reasons why students love learning but hate homework?

Many students say that they love learning but hate homework, so why?

what are the reasons that could make someone love learning but hate doing homework?

in this article, we’re going to discover 9 reasons why students love learning and hate homework at the same time.

Student hate being forced to do somethings

According to Gateway, 56% of students consider homework is a principal source of anxiety and stress. Students are feeling forced every day to do assignments and heavy work, which frustrate so many people. Less than 1% of students admit that Homeworks are suitable.

Many students don’t find the comfort of working under pressure and supporting the heaviest assignments and programs in a short period of time.

Especially for stem majors who have math, science, technology, and engineering. Programs are heavy and times not helping, hence students are always forced to work to complete work on deadlines.

Getting self-educated is very different, students arent working under pressure, no one would judge or control them. This is what makes the adventure fun and interesting for people who love learning.

They don’t have to be afraid of the instructor or professor for missing something or repeating the same mistake they did before.

These kinds of students don’t like someone to force them. They love to control themselves and like a lot of freedom and spare time to take a breath.

They hate the GPA rule

The average GPA that considers a successful student in a major varies between 3.5 and 4.0. The most obvious benefit that students are looking for is to get accepted into a good graduate school.

The second thing is to appease parent obligations and meet the goal as they say. Most students get under a lot of pressure to reach a 4.0 goal GPA. As a result, students work very hard and spend nights studying and doing homework.

A lot of students hate this idea of GPA and consider it absurd, while market jobs belive in the experience and soft skills that appliers have.

They find it a bad idea to ruin their health for 0.5+ in GPA. It is not worth pushing this much effort when are no guarantees of job acquisition. GPA is not the thing that gets a good job.

Many students don’t belive in this idea of GPA, they do college studies for the learning sake more than getting good grades. Having the culture of winning at any cost makes a lot of people cheat in exams and look for any way to get that number.

According to Recharge, 37.8% of students are cheating in college 65% males and 27 females, this is an example of why students love learning but hate doing homework to appease their professors, or giving them good grades.

Work homes are stressful

According to Healthline, more than 70% of students said the homework was stressful while 56% have chronic stress related to homeworks.

While 120,000 die every year a cause works related to stress according to SLMA. Stress causes major health issues that no one would expect.

Many students suffer and go through stressful days, working with myth the more I work the more is better. But humans have limitations, working for long hours and being stressed could not be effective, and is just a waste of time and energy.

Specialists find after spending 8 hours of work a day productivity decreases and focus drops. But what is exhausting more is spending nights until 2 to 3 am doing homework which is detrimental and beats the health.

This video is an example of what students are going through.

Many students hate doing these home works and find it hard to balance between classes and homework. But things get tougher for college students who study and work at the same time.

Being afraid of making mistakes

According to LinkedIn humans are making between 3 to 6 mistakes per hour, humankind makes a lot of mistakes. But for students making mistakes doing their homework or assignment is something unforgettable they always seek for perfectionism.

This happens for many students who have strict professors or bad professors to say instead. They point to each tiny mistake students are making and blame them for that.

Many professors don’t know that an average American high schooler student does 3.5 hours of homework a day. This is an average, so many students spend more than that, some of them work up to 4 to 5 hours a day.

So, students, have double stress finishing their homework on time and not missing or making mistakes.

Many students hate their life doing repetitive tasks each day, double-checking everything, and worrying about what if their professor would judge them.

So students are always afraid of making mistakes, this fear infects their mindsets and contributes to having poor self-esteem where confidence decreases.

Wrong definiton of succes

According to Staffsquared, 85% aren’t satisfied with their jobs, which means only 15% are happy in their job. More than 50% of graduates regret choosing their current majors. Students work hard, do homework they do all that for getting a job that they don’t know if they would love or hate.

Many students have the wrong definition of success this is what homework haters look at. People love to learn and find their passion and reason to learn from, not being under pressure of doing homework in a major they don’t belive in.

Some students have the mind that losing in college means losing everything in life. They have a tiny vision about life according to their parent’s beliefs who still follow the myth

” study hard to get a job to buy a house”.

College does not guarantee anyone becoming rich, So can we consider that engineers are not rich?

They don’t love their major

According to Withfrank In fact, it’s recorded that at least 80% of college students change their majors at least once.

So the majority of students do the wrong decision they choose majors don’t love and belive on. For instance, if we take the comparison between stem and non-stem majors we find that a lot of students consider non-stem majors as a bad field. Only because non-stem majors get paid less than stem majors.

So many people fall into this trap and don’t know if they have the ability to deal with heavy programs that stem requires to absorb.

Hence many students hate doing homework because initially they already don’t belive and love their major. They are just there for the money. They don’t love the process.

As a result, the majority of them can’t resist doing things they hate, thus a big portion of them drop.

Have wrong ideas about learning

Many students have the wrong idea about learning, they think learning is about watching scientific videos on youtube and some entertaining stuff. Science and the learning process are deeper than that.

The Malcolm Gladwell rule, famous by the name of 10 000 rule, says that to become successful in some field you need to spend 10 000 hours of practice. In other words, spending 8 hours working a day for 4 consistent years to become good in a given field.

The majority of students don’t know the timeline that scientists have gone through to become what they are. For instance, Alber Einstein took him 7 years to write his first scientific article after joining classrooms in 1901 when he was at age of 21 and took a noble premium in their 40s.

So it took him 20 years of hard work to absorb the science. So learning requires so much dedication and patience. homework is part of this dedication that students should resist to.

They are lazy

According to the Thebluebanner and American Psychological Association, between 80 and 95 % of college students procrastinate on their schoolwork. Today many students are lazy and don’t have discipline.

They are like people who want to build a great body but aren’t ready to give up junk food. This is why only 5% of people succeed and the rest of 95% stay dreaming or looking for a shortcut to success.

The is a lot of time spent in research

Homework is a job that is based on research more than execution. In order to solve issues students have to search more than execute, the majority of students say that 60% of their time is spent in research more than any other thing.

This research means making a comparison, going back to lessons or lectures, watching some youtube videos explaining something, etc. So the process is long and exhausting, which makes many of them hate homework regarding loving to learn.

Conclusion

Many students have this feeling of love learning but hate homework, the midset have to be changed. Homework is the way that teaches students discipline and persistence. It could be hard but to get what you want you to have to pay the price. you can watch this video below
